Samson Woodcock, son of William Woodcock and Eleanor Jenkins , was born September 01,1782 in Tresco, Isles of Scilly. He married Jane . Jane was born abt. 1785.

Sampson probably had 2 wives. First was Mary Pender (married
1810). They had 2 sons William (1811) and James (1816). He
probably had a son James (1822) by a second wife, Jane.
Sampson was a Coast guard and Customs man and spent some years in
foreign service with the Royal Navy. He is mentioned in
"Smuggling in Cornwall" by C.Noall(P.31) and "Tales of the
Cornish Smugglers" by John Vivian.(P.14) He was A Chief
